Description
Wing length 10 – 12mm. From above it is dark brown, but its sides are orange. The wings are tinged with brown.
Habitat
Well vegetated margins of still water bodies.
Status and Distribution
A lowland species across most of England and Wales and lowland Scotland. Common in Nottinghamshire but only recorded once at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best Time to See
June to August.
