Description

Fore-wing length15 – 18mm. Mostly pale brown with a darker line across the fore-wing centres.

Habitat

The larval food-plant is bracken, so moths may occur anywhere that bracken is available.

Status and Distribution

Widespread and common throughout most of Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire but not at Netherfield because of a lack of bracken.

Best Time to See

May to June.
