Description
Body Length 2 to 3mm. A small black tachinid with dark red eyes and yellow halteres. There are also more hairs on the face than P. pusila and there is no grey dusting on the abdomen.
Habitat
Prefers damper woods and locations to P. pusila.
Status and Distribution
First recorded in Britain in 2001 and has spread northwards to Yorkshire but is nowhere common. Uncommon in Nottinghamshire and recorded once at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best Time to See
May to October.
