The “Bird Walk” was very quiet this morning. The highlight was a Greenshank, heard calling as it flew over. A Snipe was seen flying around the Slurry Lagoon before dropping into the reed-bed. There were plenty of Wigeon, Teal, Shoveler and other ducks on the Slurry Lagoon as well as over 70 Lapwing. Skylarks and Pipits were moving south and Chiffchaffs were calling from the bushes. There were also some Common Darters still on the wing. PS.
Common Darter – Peter Smith.
