Red Kite – 9th September

It was all quiet on the Slurry Lagoon this morning with just the usual assortment of ducks and water birds. A Raven flew onto one of the pylons and a spectacular attack by a Sparrowhawk on a flock of Swallows was seen plus two more sparring male Sparrowhawks along the Pylon Path. On the Railway Bridge about 25 Swallows had assembled along with two Grey Wagtails and a large flock of warblers and tits was feeding along the Lower Path. Several Butterflies were still about as well as some dragonflies.
