Description
Forewing 12 to 13mm. The forewings are a darkish brown with an almost square white spot half way along the front edge and a few other smaller white spots.
Habitat
Woodland edge, hedgerows, parks, gardens and brown field sites. The caterpillar feeds on a wide range of herbaceous plants.
Life History
Common and widespread, throughout Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best Time to See
May to August.
