Description
Forewing – 5 to 7mm. The front third of the wings are mottled greys and brown and the hind two thirds are mainly white with some paler grey-brown markings.
Habitat
Woodland and parkland, hedgerows where the larval foodplants, mainly poplars, grow.
Status and Distribution
Local in England and very local in Scotland and Wales. Uncommon in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best Time to See
June to August.
